Changing One, Reaching Many

In the beautiful hills of Meghalaya, India, a young man named Ngeitskhem dreamed of dedicating his life to serving God.
Ngeitskhem grew up in a single-parent household after his father left when he was young. His mother worked tirelessly selling fruits and vegetables at the local market, but despite her efforts, providing for the family's daily needs was a constant struggle.
Yet, like many young people from economically disadvantaged families, his dream seemed beyond reach.
However, through perseverance and determination, Ngeitskhem completed his higher secondary education in his village.
In 2015, Ngeitskhem and his family’s faith journey took a new direction when they accepted the Seventh-day Adventist message.
With a growing desire to serve God and others, Ngeitskhem spent one year serving with the One Thousand Missionary Movement through Gospel Outreach.
During this time, God strengthened his calling to pastoral ministry and led him to pursue theological training at GATE Adventist Theological College.
Like all GATE students, Ngeitskhem received an 80% scholarship toward his education. However, his family could not afford the remaining tuition and educational expenses.
Without additional support, his dream of becoming a pastor was at risk.
After prayerfully reviewing Ngeitskhem’s application and family circumstances, our partners at Creation EduCare accepted him into their educational sponsorship program.
Beginning in 2024, generous supporters like you made it possible to cover the remaining 20% of his college expenses, and we are committed to supporting him through the completion of his bachelor’s degree.
Today, Ngeitskhem is thriving both academically and spiritually, actively participating in campus worship, outreach, and evangelistic activities as he prepares for pastoral ministry.
During a recent week-long evangelistic campaign in Nongrynhkoh, Meghalaya, Ngeitskhem and his fellow students demonstrated Christ’s love through service by constructing a home for a local family and meeting needs throughout the village.
Later, a local church member shared a remarkable story. The homeowner revealed that he had been unable to sleep after watching the students help build his home. He wondered why young people would travel so far to carry mud, move stones, and dig up the ground on his behalf.
The church member gently explained to the an, “They did not come to be served, but to serve.” Their acts of kindness touched the homeowner's heart.
Since then, he has attended every evening meeting and begun studying the Bible. We pray that, through God’s grace, he will become a disciple of Christ and a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Stories like this remind us that education does more than prepare students for careers—it equips them for lives of service and ministry.

We believe that one day he will faithfully serve as a pastor, carrying the gospel to communities throughout India, and leading many people into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ.
